League of Legends is a game that quickly envelops you in its competitive nature and complex strategy. LoL is a game just like DOTA where it pits teams of 5 against eachother to duke it out as different champions. I am impressed at the community that LoL has built. I played DOTA a bit but was annoyed at the imbalance of the champs, the amount of people that would quit, etc. LoL has tried to address some of these things by allowing players to report other players for misconduct or leaving, they are constantly tweaking the champs to try and keep it fair, and always adding more champions. There are over 100 now and at first it may seem daunting (which it is). But with so many champs, it creates so many possibilities of team compositions to try and beat the other team.

Lastly, I am impressed that LoL has turned video gaming into a pseudo-realistic e-sport in the USA. With Riot games holding and supporting these international competitions, it is turning video games into a recognizable e-sport with millions of viewers. For that alone it gains my respect. E-sports has been a reality in some Asian countries but hopefully this will be just the beginning of the bud of e-sports in America.
